Technology Module Three: Formative Assessment
Students will login to Socrative during class and take the assessment using telephones or nooks as I read a description of a celebrity. I have provided the .pdf for evaluators to see the assessment.
Background and Context
Background: This module is designed as a supplement to the Avancemos Series Unidad 1 Lección 2: MIS AMIGOS Y YO. This module is part of a fifteen day unit for Spanish I students to practice describing themselves and others. Throughout the unit, students will be assigned three tasks. First, students will describe a make believe classmate. Second students will collaboratively create descriptions of other famous people who are important to them. Third, students will listen to native Spanish speakers describing themselves and others. The summative assessment of the unit includes a description of two people. Students will listen to the description and answer questions. The students must correctly identify who likes doing what and who is being described. In order to make sure students are understanding how to describe a person, they will listen to a description of a celebrity and answer comprehension questions and also create a question of their own. After the formative assessment I will have a better idea of whether I am able to move to the next step, allowing students to create a description, or if students need more practice.
