Background and Context
Background: This module is designed as a supplement to the Avancemos Series Unidad 3 Lección 2: En Mi Familia. It is important to note that students have just completed Unidad 3 Lección 1: Mi Comida Favorita. Also, please take note that parts of this lesson have been expanded on from the Avancemos website. We are going to continue working with the same enduring understandings and essential questions from Unidad 3 Lección 1 which are shown below in brown/black. The additional focuses for Unidad 3 Lección 2 are shown in green. This module is part of a fifteen day unit for Spanish I students. In the unit, students will continue to learn to talk about foods and beverages, ask questions, and say which foods they and others like and dislike. Students will also be discussing similarities and differences in relation to advertisements from their own culture and the target culture. Students will also be comparing mealtime traditions and favorite foods from one culture to another. Throughout the unit students will build their vocabulary for the culminating product. Students will create a Fotobabble describing a mealtime tradition or favorite food. Using Fotobabble students will be able to conveniently share their traditions and favorite foods.

Anytime technology is used, students need to be aware of the responsible use of technology.

Focusing on positive attitude and learning, students will need to be honest in class. They will only be using technology for the purpose of researching adds. Looking at a website in another language can be overwhelming with the limited amount of vocabulary level I students have. Student will need to practice patience and independent learners.

Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
